Little Farmer Animals Lullaby Quilt from From My Carolina Home

This is a sweet little quilt design that is workable in just about any theme. It finishes at 34-1/2-inches, which is great for a kidlet quilt. In other colors, it would be great for older kids, or even a large table topper. The basic design is the same as the Fall Fortnight Pumpkin Spice wall hanging, but the sizes are larger and is made with half square triangles rather than flying geese. I didn’t take as many process photos as I usually do, but I’ll try to show the individual steps as best I can with these ...

September's Block from Quilt Doodle Doodles

September crept up on me yesterday, I had no idea that today was September 1st until I looked at my calendar! I really don't know what happened to summer, it just flew by. Kids will be back to school tomorrow and it really seems like summer break was just yesterday! My mom retired from her school lunchroom job just this year, so this is the first time in 35 years that she doesn't have to get up to go make the cookies for the kids. I know the kids will miss grandma's cookies, she makes them from ...

Piecing the blocks is very easy. The diagrams show you where to place the fabrics, and if you like chain-piecing like I do ...

House Block QAL – Block #1: The Original Homestead from 3and3quarters

Welcome friends to a muchly anticipated and very over-due Quilt Along!

I can’t quite believe the last Quilt-Along (the Mini Block QAL) I hosted was seven years ago – that was 2018! What!?!?

Well today, I’m so happy to be able to share with you the first block in this new House Block QAL!

The Original Homestead is a nod to the classic house block seen in both vintage and modern quilts and is relatively simple to piece together.

Take your time choosing the right colours and prints you want to use ...

August's Block 2025 from Quilt Doodle Doodles

August is here, it's hard to believe that summer is almost over. Seems like summers fly by too quickly. Soon the evenings will start to cool down and the leaves on my one maple tree will start to turn, it's always the first tree. I have a little touch of autumn in the middle of August. The garden seems slow this year... only one tomato so far, I'm hoping for more of course. (We've have had a lot of rain this year.) I have picked a couple of nice batches of green beans. I roasted them ...

Moda Blockheads 6: Block 10 – What a Lark by Janet Clare

This week’s Moda Blockheads 6 block comes with a touch of British elegance, a bit of sketchbook whimsy, and a quiet sense of direction. Introducing What a Lark, created by none other than the talented Janet Clare.

Whether she’s drawing in ink, stitching by hand, or creating dreamy fabric collections inspired by weathered coastlines and English skies, Janet always brings something poetic to the quilting table—and this block is no exception.

What a Lark – A Quiet Guide

The What a Lark block is composed of simple ...

Blockheads 6- block 9- Me and My Sister from Moda Lissa

Say hello to Block 9 of Moda Blockheads 6, and it’s bursting with fun, flair, and Barbara Groves’ signature charm. From one half of the hilarious and high-energy duo Me & My Sister Designs, this block is pure joy in fabric form.

Bold reds and playful pinks come together to form a sparkling starburst—Polaris, because that’s exactly what it does. This block took a bit of practice and choosing geometric fabrics was probably not the best option, but that is why this is a skill builder project.

Polaris – Playful Geometry with Heart

This block combines diamond-in-a-square piecing, and ...
